I was a 90s kid so I grew up with Full House. I would watch it all the time and obviously I was emotionally invested in all of the character’s lives. Nowadays, they play reruns of Full House on Nickelodeon and obviously when I found this out, I was thrilled. Who doesn’t want to watch their favorite childhood show as an adult, when they can assumingly better understand what is going on?! Well, here are just a few reasons why Full House is the greatest, especially when you can understand it a little bit better.
Dirty Jokes: Obviously, I never would have been able to catch on to a few of the prime dirty jokes when I was a child, but now, when one of them comes out of little Stephanie Tanner’s mouth, I am equally as amused as I am disturbed. One of the most memorable of the full house dirty jokes is when Stephanie Tanner calls Kimmy Gibbler a whore. Obviously, actress Jodie Sweetin (who played Stephanie Tanner) didn’t catch on to what she was saying, but we all know that Sir Bob Saget was in the background LOLLING like a fiend. Below is the video of this hilarious dirty joke:
The Sounds of Life Lessons:Full House was absolutely filled with a ton of ‘valuable’ life lessons; I’d venture to say that every episode had a little something to teach you about how to live a better life. The Full House creators obviously wanted to make sure that every single person that had ever watched an episode would know exactly when the life lesson portion of the episode was about to begin, so, they would play this horrendously cheesy little piano number whenever any of the characters would experience any type of life lesson. The one that I most vividly remember is when Stephanie Tanner felt like her older sister DJ was ‘too cool’ for her; at the very end of the episode, the two sisters were sitting on their bed together and very second the piano started playing I knew something good was going to come, and low and behold it did. Following the extremely cheesy piano music, DJ told her little sister how they would always be best friends and how she would always love her because she was her sister and therefore her best friend. To me, that sounds like a prime life lesson for anyone that has a sister, so solid job Full House, making the world a better place one episode at a time.
Steve Really was Aladdin: One of my favorite Full House episodes of all time is when the family takes a vacation to Disney World. I am a HUGE Disney fan along with a huge fan of the show, so it was a little match made in heaven for me! My favorite part about the whole episode was watching DJ see her boyfriend Steve everywhere she went. My favorite Steve hallucination that DJ has was when she looked up at one of the parade floats and saw Steve as Aladdin. That’s great because Scott Weinger, the actor that played Steve, actually was the voice of Aladdin! I loved that, I thought it was hilariously creative! Full House never ceases to amaze.
In short, if you haven’t already started watching this show, I strongly suggest that you start so you can see for yourself just how great Full House really is!
Until next time,
