My favorite thing about award shows has been, and probably always will be, the red carpet looks. In all honesty, I’d rather see those with a list of who won what the day after the show then watch it live. For me, the SAG awards were no different.
As I was reviewing the photos I picked out five of the best and five of the worst red carpet looks (in my humble opinion, of course). Check out my picks, and let us know what you thought!
I loved these looks mainly because they seemed to suit each individual actress. They were both flattering and fashionable. Sofía Vergara’s curves looked stunning in the white Donna Karan dress while Anna Hathaway’s Giambatista gown went perfect with her pixie hair cut. As far as the other three dresses went, I loved the details on each: the metallic accent on Jenna Fischer’s black Jenny Packman gown, the sexy low back on Maria Menounos, and the way Nina Dobrev’s pink gown still looks surprisingly sophisticated.
Obviously, this is entirely subjective, but I felt that each of these beautiful ladies could’ve done much better. I could not get think of anything but a mermaid when I saw Ellie Kemper’s light blue gown paired with her red hair. The gown itself is gorgeous, but I don’t feel as if it suits her pale skin. Morena Baccarin’s dress also brought to mind the unattractive image of seaweed. Also, I feel as if the multiple slits in her dress are a bit too much. The other 3 ladies’ looks were much to childish to me. The SAG awards come with a level of sophistication, that these dresses lacked.
