Dear Future BRINK Interns,

Congratulations! I know how hard it can be to find, let alone land, an internship, so it really is an exciting accomplishment.

Unfortunately, today is my last day interning with BRINK. It has been a wonderful semester and a true learning experience.  I wanted to share with you all a few of things I have learned while I was here in hopes that it would help you throughout your internship.

I feel like I have gotten a lot out of this opportunity, partially because it was so unique. While I reside in Orlando, there is no home office for BRINK and many things happen around the country as far as photo shoots, interviews and things like that. That meant it was up to me to make sure I was communicating with my supervisor, oftentimes through email and occasionally over the phone. It’s important to keep up with that, so you are always available to help out.

I also learned that it’s important to not just do the tasks you are assigned, but to attempt to impact the publication. Whether it’s just by making things easier for everyone else or by putting your personal touch on the tasks you are assigned. I learned to be confident in my abilities, while remembering that I still had a lot I didn’t know.  Be open and aware of what you are involved with and you will get a lot out of it.

Thank you to BRINK for this fantastic experience as well as to the lovely readers for taking a look at my blog every week!
