We're suckers for that moment when worlds collide. It just makes our day when it comes to a feature in the magazine being brought to life in a different visual medium. We stumbled across artist Liv McChesney and her portrait of musical artist VV Brown who was fetaured in our Dec/Jan 2013 issue. Upon further inspection we discovered portraits of Carey Mulligan among others and wanted more info on the artist behind these great works. Discover Liv and head over to her Instagram to purchase and/or peruse.
How do you define passion?
I define passion as any pain that one goes through to receive something out of true lust.
How do you describe your art?
My art is both abstracted pop and rap culture and classical values and mediums.
What does your art mean to you?
It is a way of letting myself and others portray my thoughts through a different point of view that is by way of something aesthetic.
What do you think your art could mean to others?
I would hope that it would be as much of an inspiration to fellow artists as they were to me!
Where do you find motivation to do your art? What drives your enthusiasm to create?
My motivation is almost entirely driven by competition, something very natural to me. I find that I thrive far more in art than in my studies, so therefore I work with art to build my confidence.
